1. Program Information

FerryRez is a ferry reservation tracking service for Washington State Ferries. Our SMS notification program alerts registered users when ferry reservations become available for trips they are tracking.

  • Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your tracked trips. You may receive up to 2 messages per tracked trip per day when availability changes, plus one-time verification codes when you add or update your phone number.

FerryRez monitors Washington State Ferry reservation availability and sends SMS text message notifications to users when reservations become available for trips they are tracking. The service helps travelers secure ferry reservations by alerting them to availability changes in near real-time.

Who Can Use This Service

This SMS notification service is available to registered FerryRez users who:

  • Have created a FerryRez account at ferryrez.com
  • Have opted-in to receive SMS notifications in their account settings
  • Have provided a valid mobile phone number
  • Are located in the United States or Canada

How to Opt-In

To receive SMS notifications from FerryRez:

  1. Log in to your FerryRez account at ferryrez.com
  2. Navigate to your Profile/Settings page
  3. Enter your mobile phone number in the designated field
  4. Check the box labeled "Enable SMS notifications" to consent to receiving text messages
  5. Save your settings

By checking the SMS notification box and saving your settings, you expressly consent to receive automated text messages from FerryRez about ferry reservation availability. This consent is not required to purchase any goods or services.

How to Opt-Out

You can stop receiving SMS messages at any time by:

  • Text STOP: Reply STOP to any message you receive from us. You will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent.
  • Account Settings: Log in to ferryrez.com, go to your Profile/Settings page, and uncheck the "Enable SMS notifications" option.

The following keywords are also recognized for opting out: UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT

3. SMS Privacy Policy

We will never share or sell your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in information to third parties for marketing purposes.

For our SMS notification service, we collect and store:

  • Your mobile phone number
  • Your SMS opt-in status and consent timestamp
  • Message delivery status for troubleshooting purposes
  • Your opt-out requests and timestamps

How We Use Your Information

Your mobile phone number and SMS-related information is used exclusively for:

  • Sending ferry reservation availability notifications you have requested
  • Sending one-time verification codes to confirm your phone number
  • Processing your opt-out requests
  • Responding to HELP requests
  • Troubleshooting delivery issues

We do not use your phone number for any other marketing purposes. We do not share your phone number with third-party marketers.

Data Retention

We retain your mobile phone number and SMS preferences for as long as your FerryRez account is active. If you delete your account or opt-out of SMS notifications, we will retain opt-out records for compliance purposes but will not use your number for messaging.

Third-Party Services

We use Twilio, a trusted telecommunications provider, to deliver SMS messages. Twilio processes your phone number solely for the purpose of message delivery and is bound by their own privacy policy and data protection standards. Your information is not shared with any other third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Required Disclosures

Message and data rates may apply. Standard text messaging rates from your mobile carrier apply to messages sent and received. Check with your carrier for details about your plan.

Supported Carriers: SMS notifications are supported on all major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and most regional carriers. Carrier support is subject to change.

5. Opt-in Process Documentation

FerryRez obtains explicit user consent for SMS notifications through the following process:

  1. User logs into their FerryRez account
  2. User navigates to their Profile or Settings page
  3. User enters their mobile phone number in the "Mobile Number" field
  4. User checks the checkbox labeled: "Enable SMS notifications for ferry availability alerts"
  5. User clicks "Save" to confirm their preferences
  6. System records the opt-in with timestamp for compliance

The checkbox is unchecked by default. Users must take affirmative action to enable SMS notifications.

Users can modify their SMS preferences at any time by returning to their settings page and unchecking the SMS notification option, or by replying STOP to any message.
